Major League Soccer (MLS) is the top soccer league in the United States in the American Soccer Pyramid. It is sanctioned by the professional division of the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer), which is a member of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). With the addition ofToronto FC in 2007, MLS replaced the USL First Division as the top soccer league in Canada. In 2008 the San Jose Earthquakes will return to the league, followed in 2009 by an expansion club in Seattle, Washington. |
